Course Description

Join us for a conversation with Kimberly Stephan Tate (she/her), owner of Tate of Mind Consulting. As a DEI consultant, Kimberly works with individuals and organizations offering a wide spectrum of work – from career coaching to DEI training. She was instrumental in weaving Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) into DEI strategy and building out ERGs for a global technology company.

Employee Resource Groups, or ERGs, are volunteer, employee-led groups that work to support DEI efforts within organizations. For many, the focus of ERGs is building community and professional development, but they offer so much more! Kimberly will be joining us to dive deeper into the different ways ERGs are good for business. While there is no standard model for ERGs, there are a number of best practices for establishing an ERG as well as leveraging them to unlock the power of diversity within organizations. In this session, we will look at ERGs from the ground up – starting with what they are, what they do, and the different ways they are good for business.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify Employee Resource Groups

  • Define the role of ERGs in supporting DEI within organizations

  • Outline the benefit of ERGs and how they support employees
